Registered Dental Assistant - Clinical Trainer

POSITION SUMMARY

We’re seeking a seasoned Registered Dental Assistant to help scale our rapidly growing company.  The Registered Dental Assistant – Clinical Trainer is responsible for working with and training orthodontic professionals (doctors and dental assistants) to use our revolutionary orthodontic device. The Registered Dental Assistant must be knowledgeable in all dentistry procedures, clinical infection control procedures, cleaning and sterilization of instruments, tray setup and materials. This position will require significant travel. If you would like to expand your horizons and skill-set outside of the normal day-to-day RDA responsibilities, then this is the perfect position for you.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Deliver engaging live orientations, facilitation and training of best practices, process flow and product information to new clinicians and registered dental assistants on how to use our device;
  • Provides resources and assistance by scheduling training and coaching sessions;
  • Determines training needs by traveling with clinical team and account managers; observing sales and patient deliveries; conferring with our clinical team;
  • Develops individual results by maintaining policy and procedure resources;
  • Improves training effectiveness by developing new approaches and techniques with the clinical team; making support readily available and integrating support with routine job functions;
  • Supports training financial objectives by recommending budget items; controlling costs;
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations; and
  • Accomplishes clinical training and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 years of experience working under an orthodontist;
  • Proficient in performing all functions of an orthodontic RDA in the back office;
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills;
  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion;
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications and presentation skills with strong attention to detail;
  • Fast learner and willing to take on challenges of learning new techniques and tools;
  • Able to teach other dental assistants new skills and to check on results of their learning;
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in an ever-changing environment;
  • Team-player with selfless attitude;
  • Ability to travel nationwide;
  • Familiarity with MS Office suite; and
  • Computer proficient with the ability to use different treatment software and web tools.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent with on-the-job training; associate's degree; and
  • Active California license as a Registered Dental Assistant
